Simple Time Management Tips for Students

Just ask students preparing for competitive exams like IIT-JEE…They will tell you how for them it seems like there's never enough time in the day to get everything done? They will always feel like they're running late? For such students here are some tips for taking control of time and organizing your life.

Make a "To Do" List Every Day: Put things which are most important at the top and do them first. If it's easier, use a planner to track all of your tasks and activities. And don't forget to reward yourself for your accomplishments.

Use Spare Minutes Wisely: Get some reading done on the bus ride home from school or in metro, for example, and you'll kill two birds with one stone.

Find the Productive Time: You'll work more efficiently if you can figure out when you do your best work. For instance, if your brain handles math better in the afternoon, don't wait to do it until late at night.

Review Your Notes Every Day: You'll reinforce what you've learned, so you need less time to study. You'll also be ready if your teacher calls on you or gives a pop quiz.

Get a Good Night's Sleep: A good night’s sleep is very important to freshen oneself and putting efforts for the ultimate goal of success with new energy and enthusiasm. Running on without proper rest and sleep makes one tired and everything looks boring and the tasks seem more difficult.

Communicate Your Schedule to Others: If phone calls or invitations from friends and relatives are proving to be a distraction, tell them frankly that you are studying and can’t focus properly if they will keep bothering you. Or tell them that you will take phone calls between certain times only. It may sound silly, but it helps.

Become a Taskmaster: Try to figure out how much free time you have each week. Give yourself a time budget and plan your activities accordingly.

Keep Things in Perspective: Setting goals which are unrealistic sets one up for failure. While it's good to set high goals for oneself, be sure not to overdo it. Set goals which are difficult yet reachable.
Consider these tips, but personalize your habits so that they suit you. If you set priorities that match your lifestyle and needs, you'll have a better chance of achieving your goals.

  1. Time is money for school and college students. They are not
only working harder but also working smarter and for longer hours to achieve their goals. Generally time management tools allow us to plan, schedule, assign and track tasks all from one user-friendly web interface.

Hence, I would like to suggest that students should use good time management software to manage and complete all their academic tasks. Recently, I found one such best application for time management. Its Replicon Software.
