The AIEEE 2012 result was declared on 9th June 2012 with mixed reaction from the students. While it was rejoicing time for those who got a good rank, for others it is be more about planning and getting the most out of available options.
In an attempt to help students, here is a list of important do’s and don’ts which will simplify your admission process.
Step 1: Online Registration Involves filling up choices, indicative seat availability, mock counseling and locking facility.
Dates: June 16 – June 25
Plan of action: You can use Internet from any place of your convenience. You can also avail guidance from help centers. Most of participating institutes also double up as help institutes.
What you have to do:
· All candidates declared ‘eligible’ for AIEEE 2012 seat allotment process are required to register online through Internet (www.ccb.nic.in) from any place convenient to them.
· Access the website and click on Registration
· The names of the two streams – Engineering and Architecture – will appear on the computer screen; click on the desired stream
· Register yourself as new candidate
· Enter your name, roll number, application number, date of birth
Step 2: Locking of choices for First Round
Dates: June 16- June 25
Plan of action: Candidates must lock their choices only after they have finalized them before the given date & time. After the choices are locked, candidates will not be able to change their choices. A printable version of the choices along with the terms and conditions agreed by the candidate at the time of registration is displayed once the choices are locked.
What you have to do:
· Once you are registered you have to mark your choice of branches and institutes in order of their preference.
· The procedure for exercising choices and seeking pertinent information is guided through appropriate messages and tabs on the computer screen.
· Before filling your choices, you will be required to read and agree to terms and conditions given there.
· As per the eligibility of the candidate, available seat information relating to institutes and disciplines (engineering / technology and architecture/ planning) will be displayed.
· Fill in as many choices in your order of preference as you wish to from the list of available seats.
· Candidates are allowed to change or re-order their choices, delete earlier choices and add new choices any number of times until they lock their final choices. Choices should be positively locked before the specified last date & time.
· The locking of choices involves a few steps after the LOCK button is clicked. This includes steps like entering the password, confirming the locking etc. Candidate should follow all the steps carefully to complete the locking procedure.
· After the choices are locked, candidates will not be able to change their choices. A printable version of the choices, along with the terms and conditions agreed by the candidate at the time of registration, is displayed once the choices are locked. Candidates must take a printout (hard copy) of the locked choices, sign it and produce it at the time of reporting to the Admission Center.
Step 3: First round of counseling - Result
Date: June 27
Plan of action: Check allotment status on the Central Counseling Board website. Then you should download and print allotment letter.
Step 4: Candidate personal reporting at Admission Centers against the first round of counseling.
Date: June 28 – July 05
Plan of action:
· Get your documents verified
· Pay initial fee
· Exercise up-gradation option and obtain provisional admission letter from Admission Center.
· Candidates who fail to report will lose their seats automatically and will not be considered for subsequent rounds.
Step 5: Second round of seat allotment
Date: July 05
Plan of action: Check allotment status on CCB website and download the allotment letter.
Step 6: Candidate personal reporting at Admission Centers against the second round of allotment.
Dates: July 06 – July 10
Plan of action:
· Get your documents verified
· Pay initial fees
· Exercise up-gradation option and obtain provisional admission letter from Admission Center
· First round allottees who wish to change option, may approach the same Admission Centre
· Candidate not reporting will lose their seat allotment automatically and will not be considered for subsequent round
Step 7: Third round of counseling.
Date: July 12
Plan of action:
· Same as second round
· Choices of all registered candidates who do not get a seat allotment in round 1, 2 or 3 will be automatically unlocked on July 17, 2012. These candidates can also modify their choices during July 17 - 22, 2012. They are not required to approach any Reporting Center for getting their choices unlocked.
· Classes will begin on July 23, 2012 in all the Participating Institutes.
Step 8: Fourth round of counseling.
Date: July 25
Plan of action:
· Candidates who are allotted a seat in the fourth round should report directly to the Allotted Institutes during July 25 - 30, 2012.
· These candidates may fill in their preferences of branches within the Institute at the time of reporting. Candidates who do not report to the Allotted Institute (Admitting Institute) will forfeit their claim on the allotted seat. However, they will be permitted to participate in the Spot Round, for which they should register again during August 3 - 6, 2012.
Step 9: Internal Sliding
Date: August 1
After four rounds of allotment, 'internal sliding' amongst candidates admitted in an institute will be conducted, on August 1, 2012. The sliding is based on the choices/preferences filled in by candidates at the time of getting admitted to the institute. After this internal sliding, vacancies will be displayed on August 2, 2012 in CCB website.
Step 10: The Spot Round
Dates: August 03 – August 06
Candidates who are eligible for central counseling and have not taken admission in an institute within the 4th round are eligible for the Spot Round. Candidates who were eligible for central counseling but had not registered during June 16 - 25 and July 17 - 22, 2012, would also be allowed to register and fill their choices.
